MY CHILDREN’S COLLECTION
HEY GUYS!!!
So basically, Tuesday night was a dress rehearsal and it was also the official press night (where magazines and bloggers come to interview designers and get a first look.) so on Tuesday, I was mainly backstage ( I am the head of the children’s committee and I had to juggle 55 kids.) and I had to make sure everything went smoothly.
On Wednesday, it was women’s night, and on women’s night, all men are evacuated from the building so that the women wearing scarves and cover themselves up can literally let their hair down and dress to impress, in past years, women’s night was called the Oscars of Qatar due to the fact that all the women in Qatar dress to impress and some even attend wearing dresses worn at the Oscars or are worthy of the event.
and on women’s night, in front of 3 members of the Qatari royal family, I was announced as the most creative sophomore and my collection won. but all were sworn to secrecy as I was not there at the event to receive my award.
To my surprise, on Thursday night, the official public night where all the VIP’s of Qatar’s blossoming fashion industry gather. I found out that I won the Golden Needle Award ( most creative student of my year) and that 400 women kept that secret from me for an entire day. It was a wonderful experience and I was honored to have received the award.
